🌊 Beach activities, family fun, culture, history and special discounts – Gandia has plenty going on this weekend!

If you are lucky enough to live in, own a holiday home in, or be visiting the Gandia area of the Costa Blanca North, this weekend is a great reminder of just how much this wonderful part of Spain has to offer.

On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September 2026, Gandia is joining in the celebrations for World Tourism Day, with a programme combining activities on the beach, family entertainment, local traditions and special offers at some of the city's cultural and historic attractions.

And this is one of the things we love about Gandia at For Sale By Sally In Spain – it's not simply about beautiful beaches and sunshine. There is a fascinating historic city, wonderful local traditions, sporting activities, restaurants, shops, culture and events happening throughout the year.

🏖️ A WEEKEND OF FUN BY THE SEA

The celebrations begin on Saturday morning at Gandia Beach, with Latin Fitness at 9.00am as part of Esports a la Mar.

So, if you fancy starting your weekend with some exercise beside the Mediterranean, this could be the perfect way to do it!

Then on Sunday 27th September at 9.00am, there will be a yoga session at the beach, followed later in the afternoon by Jocs a la Mar at 5.30pm – another opportunity to enjoy activities beside the Mediterranean.

There is something rather special about being able to enjoy outdoor activities with the sea and golden sands as your backdrop!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY FUN IN THE HISTORIC CENTRE

Gandia isn't just about the beach.

On Saturday at 10.00am, families can take part in the Gimcana Familiar Borgiana, starting from Plaça de les Escoles Pies and taking participants around Gandia's historic centre.

It's a fun way to discover more about the city while exploring some of its fascinating history.

And at 12.00 noon, the Tio de la Porra will make an appearance with a general rehearsal beginning at Plaça Major before travelling through the streets of the city.

The Tio de la Porra is one of Gandia's much-loved traditional characters and is closely associated with the city's Fira i Festes, which takes place shortly afterwards.

🏰 DISCOVER GANDIA'S HISTORY – WITH SPECIAL OFFERS!

World Tourism Day is also a great excuse to discover some of the historic and cultural attractions that you may have driven past many times without actually visiting.

And this weekend there are some particularly good reasons to do just that!

👑 Palau Ducal – 20% OFF

The magnificent Palau Ducal dels Borja is offering 20% off all visits on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September.

This spectacular palace is closely connected with the famous Borgia family and is one of Gandia's most important historic landmarks. (SOM GANDIA)

🎭 Museu Faller

Visit the Museu Faller on Saturday and visitors will receive a Fallas-related gift.

Fallas is one of Valencia's most famous traditions, so it's a lovely opportunity to discover more about this colourful and spectacular celebration.

⛪ Museu Santa Clara & MAGa – FREE ENTRY

Both the Museu Santa Clara and MAGa will be offering free admission throughout the weekend.

So why not make a day of it and explore a little more of Gandia's artistic and cultural side?

🎧 Gandia's Collegiate Basilica

The Insigne Col·legiata de Gandia is also joining the celebrations, with its audioguide available for the special price of just €4 on Saturday 26th September.

🛍️ AND THERE'S SHOPPING TOO!

As if all that wasn't enough, 25th and 26th September also see Botigues al carrer in Gandia's historic centre, with local shops taking their products out onto the streets and offering special promotions and discounts, with some reductions reaching more than 50%.

So you could combine a morning exploring the old town with a little retail therapy, lunch at one of the many cafés or restaurants and perhaps a visit to one of Gandia's historic buildings.

🌴 WHY WE LOVE GANDIA

For us at For Sale By Sally In Spain, weekends like this demonstrate exactly why the Gandia area is such an attractive place to live.

Imagine having all of this practically on your doorstep:

🌊 Beautiful Mediterranean beaches

🏖️ The long sandy beach at Playa de Gandia

🏰 A fascinating historic city centre

🌞 A wonderful Mediterranean climate

And perhaps most importantly, Gandia is a city that continues to live throughout the year. The calendar doesn't simply stop when the main summer holiday season finishes.

In fact, this weekend's World Tourism Day celebrations are specifically designed to show visitors and residents that Gandia has plenty to offer beyond the traditional summer season.

🏡 COULD GANDIA BE YOUR PLACE IN THE SUN?

For anyone considering buying property in Spain, Gandia and the surrounding Costa Blanca North offer an interesting combination – a genuine Spanish city, beautiful beaches and countryside, all within easy reach of each other.

Whether you're looking for a permanent home in Spain, a holiday home for family and friends, a retirement property or a place where you can enjoy the famous Spanish outdoor lifestyle, the Gandia area is well worth exploring.

And that's something we see time and time again with our buyers.

You don't just buy a property here.

You buy the lifestyle that comes with it. 🌴☀️

At For Sale By Sally In Spain, we specialise in properties across the Costa Blanca North and the surrounding Valencia region, helping buyers discover not only the right property but also the wonderful areas in which those properties are located.

So, if you're visiting Gandia this weekend, why not take the opportunity to explore a little more?

Have a coffee in the old town.

Wander through the historic streets.

Visit the Ducal Palace.

Head down to the beach.

Enjoy the Mediterranean.

And perhaps start imagining what it would be like to call this beautiful part of Spain home. ❤️🇪🇸
