Gallops, Grins & Golden Memories!

Spring is in the air, the countryside around Benicolet and Gandia is waking up in soft greens with almond blossom appearing on the trees, and there’s no better place to celebrate it than right here at El Mas de Xetà our local riding school and equestrian centre nestled just a short drive away in Llutxent.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, an enthusiastic rider, or looking for a unique family experience, this is the place to be this March.

🐴 What They Offer

At El Mas de Xetà, equestrian life comes in all shapes and sizes, from lessons to competitions, and from care to career-building opportunities.
Here’s what you can enjoy:

  • Private riding lessons & group sessions for every level — from those just starting out to riders looking to refine their skills.
  • Lessons tailored to your pace, whether you want gentle confidence-building in the arena or more advanced dressage and jumping work.
  • Preparation and coaching for official competitions in disciplines like doma clásica, salto, TREC, raid and more — with official events hosted on site throughout the year.
  • Horse husbandry, pupilaje and equine care programmes — perfect if you’re aiming for a professional career in the equine world.
  • Paseos a caballo (guided horse riding) across scenic countryside trails.

It’s a complete environment for riders of all ages and ambitions — from hobby riders to future instructors.

💫 A Personal Story: Christmas at the Stables

Last Christmas I decided to give my four granddaughters — aged  between 11 & 18 — a truly special gift: an hour-long group riding lesson at El Mas de Xetà. And what an unforgettable experience it turned out to be!

Before they even mounted a horse, the girls were welcomed by the wonderful Bea, whose warmth and expertise instantly made everyone feel at home. Bea took the time to teach them how to groom their horses and tack up properly — turning the moment into a lesson in patience, care and respect for these beautiful animals.

Their lesson was perfectly balanced:
🏇 30 minutes in the arena, building confidence with their horses, learning how to communicate and move together,
🌿 followed by a lovely 30-minute hack through the nearby countryside, breath-taking and serene.

It wasn’t just riding it was a memory they still talk about regularly.
My granddaughter Penelope loved it so much she’s already asking for extra lessons on her favourite horse, Tinto, for her birthday! That’s how special the day was.

We truly are lucky to have such an amazing equestrian centre practically on our doorstep.

🌼 Why March is the Perfect Time to Visit

With longer days and mild weather rolling in, spring is ideal for:

  • Starting private or group lessons
  • Taking children and teens for introductory sessions
  • Planning outdoor hacks through the blossoming fields
  • Watching or even participating in competitions
  • Learning horse care and stable management

El Mas de Xetà brings together sport, nature, friendship and learning — and it’s a wonderful way for locals to connect with horses, the land and each other.

Whether you’re thinking of your first lesson or your next big ride, make March the month you rediscover the joy of equestrian life at El Mas de Xetà. 🐎
