Townhouse Montebello is sold in good condition with no work to do and ready to move into!! Located in the heart of Rafol de Salem, a charming town with lots of character, this townhouse was originally the former ‘’town hall’’ for the village and has since been reformed by the current owners. The property stands on a plot of 70m2 and became a home in 2002.

One of the great features of this townhouse is the amount of outdoor space, with an inner courtyard breakfast terrace, balcony terrace off the master bedroom, another outdoor terrace to enjoy with views, plus a good sized roof terrace, this is a big bonus!!  The roof terrace boasts wonderful views of the surrounding village, countryside and mountains! It is completely private and would make an excellent place for barbecues, sunbathing, reading, relaxing and unwinding!

Townhouse Montebello also benefits from English TV via satellite, a beautiful marble staircase, a wood burner for winters nights to cosy up around, electric wall mounted heaters, ceiling fans, gas boiler for hot water on the lower floor and an electric boiler to service the hot water on the 2nd floor, open plan lounge / kitchen / diner, handy utility room / storage area which has an external window and is located via a door under the stairs, the windows are double glazed and have persianas. The Post is delivered to your door in this village.  The current Wifi system is one that you can use when you are in Spain or switch it off if you are travelling and not there (pay as you go wifi) so useful if its a holiday home, but there are other wifi systems readily available too, we can help you with this.

As you enter the property through the glazed front door, with 2 more glazed panels either side, which let in maximum light from the street, you are then greeted by the open plan lounge / kitchen / diner. You instantly notice the high ceilings and a large wood burning fire, where you can unwind with a glass of wine and watch TV and relax during the winters evenings. There are also electric radiators and 2 ceiling fans in the lounge area. As the area is open plan, if you are cooking you can still socialize which is perfect for entertaining family and friends.  The kitchen has plenty of storage and worktop space, an oven with hob above, an extractor fan, microwave and fridge freezer.  Off the kitchen you find an internal, quaint little patio, ideal for breakfast which also houses the gas boiler for hot water.

Halfway up the stairs to the 1st floor, you find a bathroom with walk in shower, basin, bidet and toilet, you continue on to the 1st floor where you are greeted with a wide inner hallway with lots of storage and a huge bedroom that boasts 2 windows giving lots of light, and its own balcony to enjoy the August summer fiestas and watch the processions and brass bands coming down the street. Back to the inner hallway you find a twin room with 2 single beds and ceiling fan.

On the way up to the second floor there is a lovely patio and this one has wonderful pine clad mountain views, a lovely area to sit and enjoy a gin and tonic or read a book. As you arrive at the 2nd floor there is another large double bedroom with 2 windows letting in the light, it also has a bank of wardrobes, next door to this bedroom is a bathroom with shower, basin and toilet, and then up to the third-floor roof terrace, fabulous views and coloured fairy lights for evening BBQ’s and alfresco dining or sunbathing, take your pick!

The local economy has traditionally been based on agriculture being mainly olive trees and vines, and the pottery industry too. Within the irrigated crop areas they grow corn, alfalfa (like hay), tobacco and vegetables, which are all harvested locally. The drier land a short distance away, being a much larger area, is mainly used for vines (for wine mainly the Rose variety) and olive trees whose oil is produced by a local cooperative. The almond trees have occupied a considerable area in the vicinity for years. Such a beautiful, lush and green area to enjoy if you love hiking with your dog, the almond blossom fills the valley in Spring and looks so amazing, there are many routes for hiking in the area and enjoying the nature and countryside.
