Ontinyent is a municipality in the comarca of Vall d'Albaida in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is situated on the banks of the Clariano River, a tributary of the Xúquer. Ontinyent is near the Sierra de Mariola Natural Park which is fabulous for hiking and discovering nature on your doorstep!  Places of interest include Pour Clar, that has pathways that lead down a canyon to a section of river with waterfalls & clear pools popular for bathing in the hot summer months.  The Covetes Dels Moros caves, a cliff face carved with ancient rectangular windows & chambers which is a historical landmark in Spain.  The Clariano river with its famous 'Pont de Santa Maria' bridge that takes you into Ontinyent historic town.  The town has everything for daily living and large supermarkets such as Aldi, Mercadona, Economy Cash, plus all the smaller shops and restaurants, banks, schools etc, that a good sized Spanish town would offer.  Gandia’s golden beaches are just a 52-minute drive via the CV60 internal road from Ontinyent.
